Well, I finally got the little guy home...he's still on medication for the coccidia but his stool is finally almost normal & his little bootie's not as red and swollen as it was. Poor little thing! He also has some scars on his back, (look like bite wounds to me, one is quite long) so he must have had a pretty rough time out there before he was brought into the center. You'd never know it from his attitude, he's as sweet as can be, eats his heart out, plays like a maniac and is a total snugglebutt!!!

I had decided to name him Hubert, but he wasn't having it. He just wouldn't respond to it, or to a bunch of back-up "H" names I had on the back burner (Helios, Hercules, Horatio...) but none of them were appealing to him, as he let me know by completely ignoring me when I used them...he looks and acts so much like my late cat Humphrey (also was born around the same time Humps died) I tested him and said in a questioning tone, "Humphrey?" He looked right at me and meowed, so either this really IS my cat's spirit reincarnated or he just really diggs the name, so Humphrey II it is, (a.k.a. "H2").

So far, he hasn't been interacting much with his animal family b/c I want to make sure the coccidia is cleared up before any serious contact and also because he's still so tiny and one of my pups (a jack russell/chihuahua mix I rescued this year) gets pretty over-zealous and I don't want to risk her hurting him accidentally by being too rough before he's ready. (She was a fire cracker from day one...started roughhousing with her older sisters of her own accord when she was still tiny, and she could hold her own, so now she's a pro!!!)

All the dogs are excited about him and happy about his being here...my female cat is another story!!! She was hissing and growling the first day, now she's just hissing here & there, and I suspect once she's accustomed to his scent & the sight of him, she'll be won over...she loved to snuggle with Humphrey I., and I know she misses the connection, and since H2 is a naturally snuggly guy, I figure it's only a matter of time before I walk in and see her little paws curled around him in her signature possessive/protective embrace...she's just making sure everyone knows she's still Queen of the castle around here, the rest of us just her loyal subjects...LOL!

Still don't have pix (no working camera!!!) but will try to borrow one so I can show you all how cute he is...!!!
