My 5 cats LOVE tuna. I often dont sleep well so i went into the kitchen this morn at 3:00am to get some juice & i also shaked (to get the cats attention) & opened a can of tuna. Within 15 seconds 4 cats come running down the hallway & 1 from the livingroom. The cats were sound asleep until i woke them up. Two were in my bedroom, two were in the closet on the quilts & one was on the sofa. They ate their tuna & within 15 minutes they were back to sleep. CATS.....gotta love them.

Too much of a good thing could be harmful. Tuna is full of mercury.

remember the chart is for humans...your cat weighs much less than a normal human.

I dont feed my cats tuna daily. When i do feed them i use 1 5oz can amongst them all. Yesterday i gave them a can of tuna as well. I will though cut down cause its getting expensive. A 5oz can of tuna cost me .75 each. I myself like a tuna sandwich now & then. Thanks for the info.

Your welcome. It's always those things we love, that we shouldn't have! ( thank goodness ice cream has no mercury!)

Yes, tuna can cause damage to their kidneys. My cat also loves tuna and I give it to her like once a month now. It's her favorite food

Why do I crave for ice cream now?

Because your feline overlord wants to lick the ice cream bowl clean afterwards.

Some tuna specifically sold for cat food is brownish red, some is light colored like what humans eat.
Anybody know what the difference is?

Most likely not 100% tuna, and also includes parts you would never think of consuming. It also shouldn't be packed in anykind of oil...which would cause diarrehea for sure.

I know it's not good for cats or us for that matter. But I only have one of my three that likes tuna. The other two could care less!

Its ok to feed your cats a few cans of tuna per week. Considering i have to split a can between 5 cats they dont get much tuna.
