KISS rocker Gene Simmons has built a career on controversial antics, but has he gone too far this time?
In a recent interview with journalist Roger Catlin on Songfacts.com, Simmons made some extreme comments regarding suicide and depression that now threaten to have long-term effects on his band’s career.
I think he knows a little about living with someone with depression. I have a feeling his wife suffers from depression, I mean she would have to....waking up and seeing his face everyday would make any normal person severely depressed.
Gene Simmons is man who has a very limited talent set, but made the most of it with his schtick. KISS was more a gimmick than a band. But I digress. He is a professional provocateur. He thrives on publicity. A new TV show he has. So, time for another inane comment. Better to be despised than ignored I heard it said. No doubt applies to him.
Then he retracts his statement saying that's not his intention. Ok then why didn't you clarify right away instead of waiting several hours later?
Yeah he clearly just said that for attention.
Or...why do so many people take other people's croakings so seriously?
because Simmons has fans/followers and with so many people having issues with various mental disorders he could very well have pushed someone quite over the edge with his words. It was very stupid and irresponsible to make the statement he made.
