I think that's a charging cord issue. Is it by Apple or an after market brand? My opinion is that non-Apple companies have troubles producing the Lightning piece, ( or whatever it's properly called: not sure of the terminology here.)
All of a sudden when I plug in my iPhone 5c to charge it makes a screeching sound.
Anyone know about this or a fix ?
I think it is aging capacitors in the charger. It shouldn't be the phone, just the charger that needs to be replaced.
Cheap wall warts have a single filter capacitor inside the case, they are still somewhat dirty devices from an Radio Frequency point of view and can produce all sorts of buzzing and other artifacts.

Thanks for explaining what can go wrong in a charger....that is interesting, and I've learned something today.
