And if so, did you find a way to get it back?

On the front page of the keyboard--the one with all the letters, there used to be a comma at the bottom to the left of the space bar, and a period to the right. Now the comma has disappeared, and can only be accessed by going to the punctuation page. You read that right. The comma, the most commonly used of all punctuation marks, is now hidden on the punctuation page. This makes any kind of texting or text entry unbelievably awkward and tedious. You wouldn't think it would have such an impact, but it really does.

So my question is twofold: As mentioned, has it happened on your particular model phone and OS version, and have you found a way to get the comma back? And secondly, what was Google thinking? Why on earth did they do this?

FTR I have a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Still there on my Samsung S21 5G phone running Android 11. What version of Android on your phone? Any chance you selected a different keyboard layout in your phone settings ?

I just got a new Samsung phone Monday. It has the comma to the left of the space bar. I'm using the Samsung keyboard.. What, if anything, has taken the place of your comma?

Yes.
My Galaxy Note 10+ no longer shows the comma. I press and hold the "n" to get a comma.

Standard Samsung keyboard.

I have an Android Galaxy S21 Ultra - the comma is still there on my keyboard on the first page. I don't recall whether or not I set up a different keyboard but I do know there are various keyboard options you can set as your default.
