If you go in the lake be very careful. Definitely have a depth finder because you can go from deep to shallow in a hurry. There are lot of stumps out there.

Great friend of mine who I used to ride along on charters with (and did a small amount of inshore mating for) would burn less than 150 gallons of diesel on offshore trips from centeral North Carolina. The majority of the fleet would burn 300 gallons plus. The vast majority of those guys were rich charter boaters who had money coming from elsewhere (businesses, trust funds, etc). The guys who actually fished "for a living" watched their RPMs.

It's just a habit for me to be concerned about fuel economy.

Its the same in saltwater,,,but without the stumps.....

Just don't forget about the tide, or you will be high and dry.
