hey im from cleveland ohio. and im ready to get out of this place. its cold, ugly, miserable. just all around sucks. I cant take 4 months of hard winters anymore. My best friend and i are checkin out places around the coast line to relocate and ive heard some good things about the charleston area. we would like to be fairly close to the beach. Neither of us know much at all about South Carolina so i was hoping you guys might be able to give us some insight about the areas around charleston or other areas that might be fitting. were both simple guys. 22 and 23 years old. im a licensed barber and he has ran gyms and done personal training for a while. and i like to ride my motorcycle. ALOT! so any insight would truly be appreciated. thanks so much guys!

From one guy to another this is a target rich environment here....

Motorcycle riding is very popular and since you are over 21 you don't have to wear a helmet on street bikes.....

Welcome! My husband's family is from Youngstown and moved her over 17 yeas ago! My Father in law is a Barber here in Mount Pleasant. It is a busy place in a great location It's Thomas's on Hwy 17 by Bilo. You should stop by and check it out. Ask for Dave and see if they are hiring.

I am sure jobs won't be an issue for you all. Mount Pleasant is a great place to live downtown, shopping and the beach is 10-15 minutes depending where you live.

Just make sure you check out all sides of DT to get a feel for where you want to be. If you are open-minded you can't go wrong... there are great things about all areas of Charleston. But you also want to look at traffic during rush hour (if that even comes into play for you), and accessibility to things that are most important to you like beach, DT, airport, shopping etc. You get more for your money the further you live from DT, but sometimes, nothing beats being able to hop in your car and be laying on the beach in only 10 minutes time! I personally favor James Island, but have lived in West Ashley and Mt. Pleasant... would do it all over again too!
