I know that above post isn't really relative on a charleston discussion board, but it would be horrible for the region if anything happened to the Boeing plans.....plus I haven't even unpacked from this move, so I have a personal stake. I don't wanna move again!!! I like it here.
If you are curious to know why all this is happening just google Christine Gregoire Boeing to see all the shenanigans this woman is up to regarding Boeing.
OK, I'll bite. I did google Christine Gregoire Boeing and did not see anything in there I would consider "shenanigans" in relation to the lawsuit that was filed this week. Am I missing something?
I started typing a long drawn out gripe post on this subject, but my heart isn't in it. If you are curious to know why all this is happening just google Christine Gregoire Boeing to see all the shenanigans this woman is up to regarding Boeing. As a former Rossi campaign volunteer I have a clear bias against her,
So if I start complaining about her I may just sound bitter, but I was embarrassed to admit to living in WA after she was elected a second term. I will say that she is desperate to keep Boeing in WA, and will do/say anything with that goal in mind.
A couple off friends back in WA probably still have Rossi stickers on their cars. I hear that about Queen Christine... I used to try to explain things she did to family in another state without a lot of luck. It didn't make much sense.
My wife and I don't want to move back to the northwest either. But unpacking... I haven't even closed on the place yet!
IMO nothing will come from the case. For one I thought the buyout of GA and Vought started up before the strike and it only makes sense to put a final assembly site next to those two.
From what I understand they have increased production in WA and plan on keeping it that way....
Atleast until the next strike shuts it down, but who knows, maybe with the plant here it will keep the unions at bay up there...
We just have to make sure that we get rid of this Obama regime in 2012 so that SC can retain and grow jobs and businesses without government interference. Crony capitalism by the socialist mob is about as anti-American as you can get.

There's been quite a few things, but with Boeing as the number one employer in the state she's pretty desperate to do whatever necessary to keep all Boeing jobs at home. Right now she's funneling an obscene amount of money to the local colleges for aerospace majors at the expense of other degree programs as a way to ensure that the largest employee candidate pool remains in WA. The universities in WA are seriously overcrowded already, and that money coming out of other programs is going to make things much worse. Schools are also going to get more funding if they can create a three year degree program in aerospace programs to entice more students to those fields. The concern being that the programs will end up being watered down versions of programs from other parts of the country and WA will end up with a bunch of degree holding burger flippers while Boeing imports in their talents from better programs. To know how serious this money issue really is you would have to have a clear picture of the state of the universities there. I know so many students who are taking classes they have no need or desire to take because the required classes are full. The scramble to register for classes has become like trying to get floor seats for the concert of the century.
This is one example, there are many more.

That's how I understand it as well. No jobs were lost by Boeing opening up a line here unless you calculate potential future jobs. Unfortunately that is not how it was represented to the general population is WA State, so Joe on the street was thinking Boeing was putting thousands of honest union workers out of work by coming here. If the tanker contract goes through it's slotted to be built in Everett as well, but still people are screaming that Boeing is union busting, even as they add more production in the state.
To the OP, it seems we have completely hijacked your thread! Sorry about that. Have you gotten all the information you were looking for, or do you still have questions?
Thanks for the reply. I don't know anything about the politics of Washington State, but I would think it is the job of the governor of any state to try to keep as many jobs as possible in their state. I do agree that it should not be at the expense of another group though. But unfortunately, I think that is the way politics work everywhere.

Boeing in Washington? Its headquarter is in Chicago :P. Btw, all the delay Boeing has on 787 is all due to its cost cutting plans. If Boeing can move its assembly line that easily, it will already done so.
