For the last 2 days, I have seen nothing more online Post & Courier or the tv sites regarding the search for student Joshua Edwards, reported missing by the Citadel.

Anyone have a new update? The last I saw they were searching Folly Beach/washout....but then no further reports.

Thanks

I haven't heard anything about him at all. Did you Google his name?

They have kept the missing student story as quiet as they have their child molestation scandal. Yep...another Penn State right in our own back yard.

I googled early hoping to have an update. Last update I saw was them calling the search off on Friday night due to the high tide. I'll have to google again.

Memorial planned for missing Citadel cadet | The Post and Courier, Charleston SC - News, Sports, Entertainment

Sounds like they suspect he took his own life.

So many college students dying, children abducted and/or being molested, young mothers missing, lately...... so much sadness for so many families and too many lives ending too soon. (I lost my own son at 19 years old, 9 years ago, so all of this hits home, especially with the holidays drawing near).

I am so sorry for your loss. My best friend's son took his own life 5 years ago, but I still feel the pain from that tragedy like it was yesterday. You are right.. so much pain and sadness for so many families. All we can do is pray that we will understand why someday. I try to count all my blessings each day and they far outnumber the bad things, so for that I am grateful.

^^^ Yes, very sorry for your losses...."family" times/holidays underscore that memory I am sure....

I had been on a bird walk out at Folly Beach washout area last Fri when the search began with fire dept etc. but then I did not know at the time why they were there. Read about Josh Edwards later that day...so it just continued to stay in my mind.
We had seen a older couple and a Citadel student in uniform on the beach-appearing very upset and frantic but again no clue what was wrong at the time.

...very very sad.

So sorry to hear about your son, SCBeaches. I lost my 18 year old daughter, 8 months ago today, so I truly understand your pain.
I am so sad for the family of this cadet, I hope they can recover his body, and give some closure to the family. My thoughts go out to them...
