I can't tell you the best time to go to MP, but I can tell you not to bother looking up wait times on their website. I have tried to take my boys in twice after school for the learners permits, and both times the wait was so long they closed while we were waiting, even though the site said less than 15 minutes to wait.

The other half can only go to the Leeds Ave. site...and I agree that it's a mess down there. Luckily she doesn't have to go often. I detest going down there, but she doesn't have a choice...and I am not going to send her alone. If she has to go alone, she drives all the way to Bluffton (which is where she was required to go before moving to CHS).
Mt Pleasant/IOP. It amazes me when I call the DMV in SC. You speak to someone (nice) within 1-2 minutes..every time. Boston, it's just a given you'll wait 45 minutes to get someone typically rude. Just an observation!

Trust me, I wouldn't either if there was another option, but short of pulling them out of class I don't have a choice. Hopefully there will be a day during Spring Break when it isn't a madhouse in there.
The DMVs in NY are absolute garbage in comparison.
Had to chime in............
Rory you just left NY... do not trash it please.
You should then just quote the ones Upstate Rory..... not broad band all of NYS DMV's
DMV in Coney Island is fine.... waiting lines are quick and it is organized AND friendly.
Remember where you came from... everyone else around you will
