Does anyone on here have any inside information about something that may have happened around the intersection of Main Rd., River Rd., and Chisolm Rd. on Johns Island yesterday (Monday) between 6:00 - 7:30??

I was coming home from FL and as I came across the bridge from the direction of Savannah Hwy., I was greeted with at least 20 police vehicles, all with blue flashing lights. They were blocking off River Rd. and Chisolm Rd. and were parked up and down all three streets. Sheriff deputies were diverting traffic straight down Main Rd., so I couldn't turn left onto River as I normally would. As I proceeded a mile or two down the road, here came 1o more police vehicles with blue lights flashing. Further down, by St. Johns High School, here came an escort of at least 15 police motorcycles (I guess a motorcade), followed by approx. 25-20 more police vehicles. I kept thinking there might be a government VIP coming soon, but never did see a limo or any kind of vehicle other than police/sheriff's cars.

This wasn't Friday when Biden was in town, but last night.

I have not seen anything about it on the news or in the paper.

I bet it was Biden leaving. From the Post and Courier on April 6:

"Biden’s official schedule shows no public events for the next few days, which means drivers can probably expect the same type of traffic tie ups to be repeated, possibly as soon as Monday."

I was gonna post the exact same thing -- Biden was leaving. Was at Costco on FRiday and there were cops everywhere from I-26/I-526 to Sam Rittenburg....I was thinking something big was going on -- it was Biden arriving for a week end at Kiawah.

Oh, ok.....that makes sense. It didn't seem like anyone was in a hurry and I didn't see anyone getting arrested, so I figured it must be something like that. They must have used every type of law enforcement vehicle available for 3 counties, there were soooo many! That would have been the perfect time to commit a crime if someone was inclined to do so. lol

I agree with you completely, Rick!!!! Can't even imagine how much $$$ all of that protection cost!

Who ends up paying for that? Does the county/city absorb the costs associated with the VP or President visiting?

I guess I should already know this but I don't....:/.
