So, people talking about Blue Bell ice cream went for two pages before being locked out. It seemed a fairly popular topic so why not start up a thread for anyone interested to talk about it.
I've not looked myself. Does Publix or Harris Teeter carry BB ice cream in or around Charleston? I like it, but haven't had it in years.
Blue Bell Creameries, founded in 1907, is the manufacturer of Blue Bell brand ice cream.
Blue Bell sells its ice cream directly in only 20 states, mostly in the Southern United States, although Blue Bell ice cream has also been eaten aboard the International Space Station and at Camp David. Notwithstanding its small market penetration, Blue Bell is the third-best selling ice cream in the United States as a whole.
Corporate headquarters are at the "Little Creamery" in Brenham, Texas.
I think they are on the same level. I like Breyers (or is it Dreyers and why are their names so close?) vanilla bean over Blue Bell's vanilla. Blue Bell has many interesting different flavors to try. You can also get pints to try different flavors. Did I mention the Red Velvet is to die for?
So, how much do you pay for Blue Bell? I'm in Austin, TX---here it ranges from $4.50/half gal to$5.50/half gal. We go through about 1/2 gal/day---that's with a family of 4!
So, what do you pay/half gal?
What's your favorite? Mine's chocolate mint chip!
Also, love, love love those Klondike Bars---just the plain vanilla dipped in chocolate. we got them in 24/case at Costco, I could eat the whole box if my kids didn't get them first!
