Sad at the no love for Aldi - the ones near me are all pristine, fresh produce, and they've all got new gourmet cheese sections that bring in the wine and cheese bunch. The brand they carry is their own (unless they've made a special purchase) and are made by the same companies that make many name brand products. Some of their products are identical to Trader Joe's products because - guess what - they own Trader Joe's. They have a money back guarantee as well if you buy something and don't like it. I have only bought 1 thing from there that I didn't like. I tend to buy staples and produce with some refrigerated items and bread.

You're both right...and wrong.
Trader Joe's is NOT owned by Aldi...although the owner of Aldi Nord in Germany owned Trader Joe's until his death in 2010.
In Germany, Aldi is split into two companies...both owned by somewhat estranged brothers. The US version of Aldi is owned by the other German Aldi, Aldi Sud. This is a different company than Aldi Nord.
Since the death of Trader Joe's owner in 2010 I can not find any information of exactly who holds the company now.
Margaratiaville (SP) - they have one at Universeral Studios. I eat Gluten free and that is one place that I actually get a good selection besides salad.
I definitely agree with LVBuzzbear about the diners! and a Melting Pot restaurant would be cool. Anyone know if there is a fondue restaurant around?
