Can someone explain how students are divided between the elementary and middle schools in MP in relation to where they live? I tried looking on the maps provided but they don't make sense.
Great thread. North Charleston does get a bad rap, and doesn't deserve it.
Its the state's 3rd largest city behind Columbia and Charleston, with over 100,000 people. There are some bad areas, some ok areas, and some really nice areas. Any city of that size will have all three. Heck, Mount Pleasant has 4-5 shady areas off the main roads.
Greenville is a beautiful city. But many people who visit are shocked when they hear how rough and violent some of it's suburb areas are.
I should hope the magnet and arts school rank higher --- you have to qualify to get in. I'm more impressed with the public schools that have to take everyone and have a more diverse, bigger population and still somehow score quite high.
Yes Wando is the only HS in Mt. Pleasant and it is a great school.
AND none of this is a surprise....we have been posting the school rankings forever. Nice to have it brought up again for the newbies.
