I'll start with this one....please add your own reasons to warn off others who think SC is a good place to migrate to:

1) Daily traffic jams, even in mid-sized cities. Yes, we all love the low taxes here in SC. Low taxes will also prevent infrastructure from keeping up with rapid growth. Imagine a 45-minute commute to travel just 15 miles to work? The reality is that new roads or other solutions, especially coastal areas like Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head have lagged behind rapid growth for over 20 years.

2) ?

South Carolina as a whole:

Public Education: Low reading and math scores on the National Assessment of Educational Progress exams, high tuition and fees at public colleges, low pre-school enrollment figures and low two-year college graduation rates.

Lack of Diversity: 68% white, 27.5% African American, 5% Hispanic, 1% Asian...

Certainly, our Public Education can be improved upon in SC and in some areas, it's better.

Lack of Diversity: It's more diverse than many mostly rural states...I think that we in SC at least have good harmony among our diversity of race and ethnic origins.

Sometimes complaining helps illuminate a fixable problem.

Ok, I deleted my post. For some reason I thought this was posted in the South Carolina forum.

I don't think you are going to fix hot and humid and the fact there are more GOP voters here than blue states though, or the race of people living here. Encouraging minorities not to move here will definitely not increase racial diversity here. If you want SC to become a blue state and have higher taxes, it makes sense to encourage Democrat voters to move here.

The issues in Charleston are due to the river , peninsula geography and so many transplants moving in, not the roads, in my view.

SC has the 6th highest percentage of black residents. In my view, that makes it pretty diverse.
