I don't have kids but my best friend does. I am watching her 2 yr old for her and was wondering if there are any good places to take a toddler in the West Ashley/Downtown area?

I have a 3 and 20 month old and they like to do the following

Children's Museum
Aquarium
The "Dreaded" Chuckie Cheese
Party Kingdom

If it is nice out any of the parks around and the battery and the waterfront park down town. There is one across the bridge in Mount Pleasant also.

Don't overlook the Firemen's Museum by the outlet mall. A toddler might not appreciate all the ancient firetrucks but playing on the kid-sized fireman's pole and driving the firetruck simulator is way cool (even for a big "kid").

It's especially nice to visit the museum on a hot and/or rainy day.

If you are downton, The Buccaneer for lunch . Food is decent, prices great and when the wee one gets restless lots to walk around and look at. Bubba Gumps is a touristy restaurant downtown. Not my fave but EXTREMELY kid friendly -- even toddlers.
