Did anyone else get that emergency message on their iphone this afternoon. My phone buzzed and sent this emergency message: STAY HOME, STAY OUT OF WORK, STORES, UNLESS ESSSENTIAL. CASES ARE MULTIPLYING IN ALL COUNTIES OF S.C. “
We got it on the phones, too, and it's been on tv as well. Scared the crap out of me at first!
Has anyone heard the most recent one on tv about 30 minutes ago? I thought I heard "visiting family if they need assistance" but the order just says "visiting family" is ok. Makes no real difference to me, but it's unclear and I like clarity.
There was another strange message on the scrolling sign leaving CHS airport on Saturday morning. That one said something to the effect of "all visitors should/must (can't recall) quarantine." Did anyone else see that? All visitors? I thought I had read something about people coming in from hot spots, but not "all."
The message at the airport would certainly make a LOT of sense. If us locals are suppose to stay at home, the visiting people off crowded airplanes, who are in the most dangerous of areas to carry and spread viruses, who are susceptible to breathing, getting infected, and spreading it more, SHOULD be quarantined, imo. Things are bad enough as it is without adding more fuel to the fire.
RE: Scrolling sign at the airport
Here is the order dated 3/27 (before the most recent stay at home directive):
A. I hereby order and direct that an individual who enters the State of South Carolina
from an area with substantial community spread, to include the Tri-State Area (consisting of the
States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) and the City of New Orleans, Louisiana, shall
isolate or self-quarantine for a period of fourteen (14) days from the time of entry into the State of
South Carolina or the duration of the individual’s presence in South Carolina, whichever period is
shorter.
So, it was all hot spots, not all travelers. The sign was misleading and incorrect.

Scary.
Yes, it's a stay at home order state wide. Hopefully most folks got the message loud and clear.
I see the sign above the interstate everyday I go to work "Go home, Stay safe", so of us still have to work.
