I’ve spoke to the chik fil a manager in S. Charleston last year and happened across one of the contractors for the travel plaza coming to Exit 40. Both confirmed a chik fil a in Teays Valley but waiting for the new one in South Charleston to be built first.

I didn't realize that there was a truck stop going in there? Do you know what type? I would make an educated guess that it would be a Love's considering there isn't one nearby (except for up 35 in Ohio).
Chick-fil-a makes too much sense in Teays Valley. Also, I'm surprised that there isn't a Chipotle or Qdoba in TV yet.
When my family moved to Scott Depot in 1972, the only stores there were a Hecks, a drug store, and some other store next to I-64 along with the Union 76 and Amoco truck stops.

It is incredible how much Putnam County has changed, however it is sad that it's growth has been fueled by the decline of Kanawha and Cabell Counties over the past few decades. If Charleston and Huntington had robust economies with people actually desiring to move to this region, then Putnam County would have naturally grown the same as it did, and maybe even more so. However, places like Barboursville, Saint Albans, Cross Lanes, etc.... would have also grown.
Given their curernt political activism I don't see this target doing well.
There's still plenty of people who are shopping at Target. Business boycotts never seem to last.
