Hi, I have been reading the threads but wondered if anyone one has any recent recommendations for a hair salon. I am in South Charlotte and I don't need a state of the art, super trendy salon that charges $200. I just need someone to help me find the right cut for me at a reasonable price.

Thanks

Carmen! Carmen! Salons - which do offer $200 super-trendy cuts - have lower-priced cuts by their newer stylists. I've always been pleased going there, when I've been willing to spend $40 on my hair!

Aveda also has a training salon on South Blvd. It used to be really hard to get in there, but a friend told me yesterday they've expanded, and take walk-ins now.

I have been going to Alan Daniels salon (off Carmel) for about 7 years. I tried all the other recommended shops the first year and was never satisfied. Obviously, I was very satisfied with Alan Daniels or I wouldn't have stayed there, lol.

Thanks. I have heard about Alan Daniels which is not too far from me.
I also like Aveda because of the ingredients they use in their products.

Thanks I will check them both out.!

I have been using Fuzion Hair Design in Waxhaw since our move to the area last Nov. I am very happy with Jody the owner, she colors , foils and cuts my hair. I have a hard time paying those insane prices as well, and you will not find this at her salon. They are all experienced hairdressers. My color and cut has always come out exactly as I would expect!!! Perfect. I actually starting bringing my teenage daughter there as well. They actually just added on a hugh spa/nail section to her location. It's worth checking out.

Hi Ani,

What are we looking at for cut and highlites medium length hair. I went to a shop at Birkdale spent over 200.00 and it didn't look any different than I could do myself.

I go to Salon Vivace in Southpark. They are reasonable, very educated and extremely good at listening to what you want. They also are a full day spa with a great nail dept.

Definitely Carmen Carmen. I go to the one in Ballantyne. The stylist actually spends time discussing what you want before starting to cut.
