We are moving at the end of August, and were looking at the KB homes in Berewick? Any current information...on the neighborhood, the sales prices, the contruction of your home. Also need good OB-GYN--due in Oct. How about extended stay hotels vs. furnished apartments? Any recommendations? References? Thanks

Bradford Clinic on Providence is great, Extended Stay hotel, TownPlace Suites (Marriott) either off Arrowood Blvd or University City Area, depending on your employment location. I stayed in TownPlace for 2 months, fitness center, breakfast, laundry rooms, internet computer in lobby, also gas grill by the pool, (this is Arrowood Location), but traffic is not great, unless u r a early raiser on highway by 7am. If u use this hotel, become a marriott rewards members, get points for free nites. I was in the travel industry and I love hotel perks, (great eateries in walking distance)

I wouldn't go to Bradford Clinic. When I was having my babies, there were too many doctors and I was just a #, not a name.

I cannot recommend Philip Solomon with Carmel Ob/Gyn highly enough. I received excellent, personal care from both him and his practice.

i agree - I also go to Carmel Ob/Gyn and get great care there! I like Dr. Morris a lot! As for Berewick, I'm not crazy about the KB section, but it isn't bad at all. We live in the Shea section, and they seem to be a much better builder. For the money though it's a good investment. The neighborhood isn't going to to anything but appreciate in value!

I guess it depends how you feel about cheaply made homes if you will decide to go with KB. Here are the problems: KB is the only side in Berewick that does not require fully sodded yards, thus making some of the houses and lots look very dumpy with overgrown weeds and dirt everywhere. McCar across the development has fully sodded yards, great landscaping and looks like $300K homes. KB's cookie cutter designs are wearing thin on the lower model homes, lack of attention to detail, problems, problems, problems, and it is very hard to actually get service on your house when you need warranty repairs. Also, do you have school aged children? That too would be a problem as our current school is Berryhill Elem. and I wouldn't send my children there. It is in a poor area and facilitates mainly lower income families. I have a great ob/gyn, he is in Fort Mill, SC which is a 20 min. drive from Berewick. I chose to go to Fort Mill for all of our health care. The birthing hospitals are Rock HIll or Piedmont. I have heard a lot of issues with some of the Charlotte hospitals so you may want to look into Fort Mill. Hopes this helps and good luck.

Carolinas Medical Center- Main, CMC-University, CMC-Pineville and CMC-Mercy hospitals received the JD Powers and Associates award for outstanding service and customer satisfaction in 2007. It is a very reputable hospital system. As is, Presbyterian and it's other facilities.

And Presby-Main's labor and delivery unit is state of the art - VERY NICE, very well regarded - I have no clue what nkjaws is referring to.
