HI, I was about to do the vehicle registration renewal online last night. However, I noticed thatmy vehicle must have passed an inspection within 90 days of the renewal date in order to renew the registration, and I haven't done it this year yet.
My questions are: which inspection are they talking about? the emission inspection, the safety inspection, or both? How much does it cost normally? 30 bucks? Thanks!
I just had our cars inspected. $28 per car and if you take it to any place that advertises that they are certified to do Vehicle Inspections you can do it there. They will know what to do.
Your windows must be really dark. We have two cars with tinted windows and it only cost the $28, no extra.
Dawn
Its not about if the windows are dark or not. 95 and under its like 12 bucks and is safety only, 96 and up its safety and emissions, and shops charge and extra 10 dollar fee to check the percentage of the tint. i guess you got lucky and didnt get charged.

If the tint will obviously pass, some shops don't bother testing it as a courtesy. When I had my truck inspected, the tint was borderline and they charged me to test it,. but let me slide because the tint was a couple percentage points too dark. The guy told me I need to clean the windows, wink wink.
