We are coming down in august to look for a new home in Union or gaston county, we are looking for new construction under 250K and have two boys 5 & 7. Any reccomendations on a church we may visit. We love our church today and it is very bible based and family oriented so we hope to find the same.

Sounds like you belong to PCA if you are Bible based and family oriented, as opposed to PCUSA, the extremely liberal presbyterian church. I think Christ Covenant in Matthews will be perfect for you! It is PCA and they also have an excellent school for your children. This location would favor the Union County area better.

I second the Christ Covenant Presbyterian reccomendation. My family visited there a couple times when we lived on the east side of Charlotte. I was impressed with the interim pastor they had at that time so I got the impression quality leadership is the norm for them. It wasnt as friendly as I am used to, but then again with so many transplants I think newcomers don't stand out so much. Their worship was very Reformed but fairly contemporary for Presbys.
We live in Gaston County now, not so many PCAs out here but there are some Associate Reformed Presbyterians (ARP) which are very similar. We attend one of the only 3 PCAs in all of Gaston County, Goshen Presbyterian in North Belmont. Its quite small, but friendly, and conservative.
East Belmont Presbyterian is PCA, as is First Presbyterian in Stanley (off HW 27, north of Gastonia)
