Far out yet and no way to tell the track with any confidence. Flooding will of course be the biggest threat.

If it goes the path of hitting land in Florida then up to Georgia heading this way then heavy rain flooding is possibility.
The projected path is wide right now but if it enters into Atlantic and landfalls near Charleston then we may have another Hugo.

I wish they would give hurricanes new names this name was used in 2009 and 2005.

My gut says it will bend east of us but you are right the current path takes it into Jacksonville and just East of Charlotte. That would bring a flooding rain especially if its moving slowly. Time will tell. Jacksonville to Charleston is in a dangerous situation though./

Yeah, they should give them cooler names like The Deathanator, Soggy Spiral of Death, Tropical Terror Tim, etc. I just put some externders on my gutters so that water doesn't get in my basement, I guess I may find out if it was effective or not soon.

New track has it on a dead course for Charleston...as a major hurricane..looks more Hugoish by the second. I still think it will bend east of us though ..right now the forecast had it just east but if it stayed on this course we would get slammed too.

We can hope it heads east. Eastern Nc is in severe drought they could use the rain.

Or this thread may turn into hurricane preparness thread.
