Hey, I am looking for a place to workout and not be overwhelmed by guys/meatheads. Are there any casual gyms around the Indian Trail area that is worth joining?

Any gyms that don't have heavy lifting equpment will fit that bill. Look at Planet Fitness or Curves. If you like Zumba like me: *Ja'Makin Me Dance Fitness Studio - Home

I second Planet Fitness. They're pretty limited with how heavy the equipment is and they lack free weight benches and plates which discourage most heavy lifting guys from going there. I think the closest one to Indian Trail is on Independence in Matthews.

For myself, it's kind of mediocre since I need heavier weights but for only $10 per month it can't be beat. Lots of women seem to like it.

Check out Sports and Fitness in the old BI LO shopping center off US74 in Indian Trail. There's also a small gym right off Wesley Chapel Rd across the street from SVHS that might interest you.
