It's the Carolina Way. Same as it ever was. They just need to go ahead and drop the student part of the student-athlete equation and make football and basketball affiliated businesses. The NCAA is nothing more than exploitation of the players and a drain on University resources.

Hey... Whatever it takes to protect the cash cow of UNC athletics. This is not surprising to anyone who doesn't wear Carolina blue tinted glasses...

Yeah it wasn't really surprising... Activities like these happen more than we care to realize

Maybe I am somewhat bitter since our daughter did not get accepted to UNC Chapel Hill. However it is not just the Carolina Way.The hypocritical way the entrance requirements are lowered that allow these "student atheletes" to enroll is a joke. Would all these universities really suffer financially if they did not have a BCS football team or a Sweet 16 basketball team? Maybe the NFL and NBA should pay the Universities for any player they sign that does not have a degree. When is a coach worth more than a university president? Maybe when he has close to a 100% graduation rate of his "student atheletes." I realize no university has a 100% graduation rate of it's non student atheletes. Just my opinion.

I think the NBA & NFL shouldn't let college athletes into the draft without a college degree. Though the sad thing is that this sort of thing starts in HS. Kids moving into districts (or finding an address to use) of the good football or basketball teams that will lead to college scholarship.

ND has a high graduation rate for it's student athletes. Jimmy Clausen not included.

Yeah. The NCAA are the ones making the real money here. Taking advantage of young kids with a highly marketable talent under the pretense of "education."
