My husband is Japanese and is relocating to Charlotte. Among the many things that Charlotte doesn't have is a recreational Japanese baseball league...or at least I think. He has given up hope of being able to play for fun here and I hate that for him. American baseball is not the same in spirit as the game he loves. I believe that our Japanese or Japanese-American population would perhaps support one or two teams and if the league is NC/SC wide there may be a season's worth of teams to enjoy the sport. My question is, has anyone heard of a Japanese rec team in the area or would know where I would start if I would like to suggest it to an organization? I would love to give him this. It makes him happy
I hope you realize that baseball is originally an American sport... So I don't understand the difference between American Rec ball and Japanese Rec ball?
Your response isn't helpful and the answer to your question of the small differences found in the leagues are easily found on the internet. Of course I know where the sport started. That's why I didn't ask that question. What I asked is if anyone knew of a Japanese Recreational Baseball League for men in the NC/SC area. If no one knows of one or who or what organization I can contact, that is fine-I will research by other means. I just need positive and helpful feedback.

Your OP wasn't very clear because the differences that "are easily found on the internet" relate to the professional level - not the rec level. The technical differences between the 2 (ball, field size, etc) did not seem reasonable to find at the rec level. So my question I believe to be relevant... What specific differences are you looking for - the exact professionals standards of Japanese baseball or do you want to just play with Japanese players only?
Perhaps I easily took offense to what I thought was a belittling comment, i.e "I hope you realize that baseball is originally an American sport". Of course, I do. That colored everything else for me, I'm afraid. But your clarification shows that you are really trying to understand what I was looking for. Sorry to take your inital comment as an indicator of intent. Apologies.
Technically speaking, recreational baseball does use a different ball and while I am not familiar enough with the sport to see if the technical differences are the same in professional and recreational Japanese baseball- size of field, strike zone of bat, etc-there are different nuances as well that I picked up on as a spectator. I referenced that in my orignial post as the spirit of the game. The league he plays with in NYC is mostly Japanese but there are a few American players so it is of course not mandatory that everyone be Japanese but everyone speaks Japanese on the field. The culture of the people is reflected in the way that they play the game. I think more than anything, he gets to use his language and have a sense of still being tied to a community within a community. I don't want him to have to give up that simply because I never looked hard enough. If it will make him happy, I'd organize a league if I had to. I just want to know if a league exists or interest for that matter.
Thank you for your patience.
