The revolution era 'Hezekiah Alexander House' is closing it's doors Friday
The closing of the museum says more about our future than it does about our past. But how can we know where we are going unless we know from where we came?
I've been talking about going there for years. I guess I better get my butt in gear. Such a shame to lose another piece of our history. I hope they will be able to figure out how to come back strong.
Instead of worrying about so many other weird luxuries that this city/county want to do...they should be propping up this gem. Hopefully, they will find a benefactor in one of the banks or other corporate HQ?
Im putting this a sticky in case anyone has a free moment to go, closes tomorrow Friday June 1st.
Open from 10am til 5pm. The Charlotte Museum of History
I cant find any other articles to affirm the closing besides the CL article.

It's actually been closed since last Friday. They're hoping to reopen at some point.
It looks like it's a temporary closing/suspension of their summer programs.
This is from the museum's facebook page -

We need your help to help us with the “Future of History”. We are temporarily suspending our operations open to the public in order to plan for a meaningful, engaging future that our community will support. We’re taking a few months to get our act together and listen to what people are most interested in about our local community’s history and what would engage them to visit our location and participate in our programs. Please share this message with others you know who are interested in learning and sharing the stories of Charlotte’s early and recent history! Watch this space…good ideas welcome!
They also have a note that the museum and Hezekiah Alexander House grounds and trails are open today. (Saturday, 6/2)
