Sounds like you want to throw the office a party. I doubt he feels as good about shooting a CHILD,as you seem to.

As a matter of fact I seriously doubt he would think it was something to celebrate.

What the heck are teens doing with guns? I am surprised this 'teen' isn't dead. He is very lucky that this police officer missed. Where in the HE?? are the parents of these THUGS?

We should be lamenting the fact that child is in a position where he or she is out late at night with a weapon as opposed to cheering the fact that an officer was forced to open fire on them. A 14 year old out on N Tryon at 9pm with a gun is obviously being raised in a toxic environment. But hey, let's give the officer a gold medal instead. Your joy is disgusting and frankly disturbing.

I raised boys and I agree they aren't the brightest but a 14 year old boy KNOWS he is not supposed to have a gun. IF he is stupid enough to have a gun he surely knows to drop it when the police officer tells him to.

Either way,who celebrates shooting a child or a teenager. Not a normal human being. Not saying the boy was right. He probably deserved to get shot, but he's still a child period.

Btw officers a taught to shoot "center mass" right? In other words shoot to kill. Why do you think this officer didn't? Could it be because no human being wants to kill a child?

Where does one draw the line between adult and child? There are many children who have committed heinous crimes. Is age the sole determination between child and adult? Or should the actions of a person determine if they are acting as a child or an adult? Running around with a firearm is an adult activity. Had this person not been shot for refusing to drop his gun, what would he have done with his gun? How many people would have been shot, robbed, or violated otherwise? But he's just a child. Children don't carry firearms. Period.

(None of this applies to hunting or children who are using firearms while properly supervised by a responsible adult)

AND...if this 'kid' had shot and killed the police officer, you can bet your last dollar he'd be tried as an 'adult'.
I am more shocked that there are still people in Charlotte who this 'kids at parties having guns' is shocking to! Seriously??? Do you not watch the news here nightly or know what is happening in Charlotte and our neighboring cities? I call Charlotte, 'Miami Poquito....Little Miami' now. We are quickly getting up there on the exact same crime levels that I left in 1986. Nightly murders, home invasions at least weekly, and last week multiple scene/multiple murders all related to 'drugs until proven otherwise', gang killings of City Govt officials, women held as sexual slaves...WAKE UP, people!
You don't get to grow and bring only the 'good' things to the area and NOT get with it a TON of the 'bad'. It is all right here in Charlotte today and it is going to stay! It's not just some 'sad' kids, in a bad neighborhood, at a party with guns...this is everywhere!
