You learn something everyday. Tell you how much I know about dogs. First time I saw the words"presa canarious" was here earliar today. As a LL if someone asked if it was ok to have one I'd say sure! Heck, what damage can a bird do? I honestly thought it was a canary! LOL at myself.

Hey guys, thanks for the education.

Pits are a nice breed. Unfortunately they are commonly owned and trained by criminals and irresponsible people. Hence why respectable neighborhoods are rightfully hesitant to allow them..

It is not the absolute size of a dig that counts it is the damage it can do with what it has available.

I am not criticizing any breed of dog but am simply citing one reason pit bulls have a reputation for being strong biters.

is there an article online about this happening between the officer and pitbull?

Insurance is why most landlords have stopped allowing them. Insurance companies will drop you in a heartbeat because of dogs listed as a dangerous breed. Ask me how I know.

Larger companies most likely have a set corporate policy regarding certain breeds. The fact that a property manager is choosing to ignore it only means he could lose his job, not that the breed is allowed. I have filed many evictions in the past over dogs of any breed. You may not even be aware of a pending eviction because many leases waive the right to a cure or quit demand. So, not only are you going to be evicted, you'll then have a poor rental history and be extremely limited in your options.

Don't try to be slick. We are not stupid. Landlords spend a lot of time learning about all the little tricks tenants try to pull. If you want to be dishonest, go ahead. You'll not like the outcome.
