I'm considering hiring a contractor to epoxy our garage floor.

Any recommendations?

Never hired anyone, but my floor coatings never last long before they get dinged up. Of course, my shop is abused, lol.

We just had epoxy coating done to our two-car garage by All American Decorative Concrete. We worked with a person named Patrick Godfrey and he has been absolutely amazing to work with. He initially came to our house to give us a quote and he quoted us $1400 but with Angie's List discount, it was cheaper. Additionally, he has 5-years warranty on the coating. He did great job with the floor and he was always focused on making sure we were happy with his work. The other two quotes we got were $2000 and $3000 respectively.

My wife and I used a local flooring contractor which we found after interviewing and getting quotes from a few in our area. We almost went with a company that sounded good but found out took short cuts. We learned a lot about epoxy garage floors from a site that explained the differences here: A Review of Epoxy Garage Floor Coatings | All Garage Floors

As a result, we found out that not all epoxy floors are the same and we were able to weed out the good from the bad. If you read up a little on epoxy floors and do your homework regarding the contractors in your area, I'm sure you can find someone you will be happy with. We learned that the cheapest price isn't the best deal and to ask a lot of questions regarding how they install it and the prep work involved. Also, check to make sure they are licensed. Two of the companies that came by to give quotes were not!

Good luck!

Yes I'd do a lot of research on how epoxy holds up and what it requires when you need to replace as it gets dinged up a few years down the road. I was all about it too until I read up on it a little more. Look on the City Data Automotive section and there is a pretty nice thread on it with some good info/suggestions.
