Disagree on the if you raise them going to nice places, they won't want McDonald's. My kid could order from a menu by herself at age 2. But they see, they hear, they want to go to McDonald's. They might not even want the food - they want the toy and the play place. I will also say that my kids are significantly older than kid age now, but I see it. It's not a matter of behavior - it's easy to teach a kid to behave in a restaurant. But it's a birthday party - there needs to be fun that doesn't require sitting like little angels at a nicer restaurant. If we had something similar to what the OP originally asked about - that would be perfect. But we don't.

Have you been to Nakato's or Mellow Mushroom? Neither are places where kids have to sit like little angels. Both are loud, vibrant and a fun compromise for kids and adults alike. And the OP mentioned combining a kid event with Nakato's. I see it as a win win for all involved.
Yes - children started going to Nakato and Kabuto and Fujimi when they were very, very small. Great for a family - I still can't imagine it for a birthday party for 6 year olds. She - maybe yoou can get the small private room, but can you imagine having let's say 6 or 8 kids who may or may not have ever been to a place like that and then giving them a menu and saying -- what do you want? I imagine that there will be more than a few who are looking for the chicken fingers and french fries. That's just the nature of kids. One of my kids went for years where all she wanted was an order of fried rice, but rice is one of her favorite foods. It wasn't until she was maybe 8 or 9 that she started ordering from the kids menu to get shrimp and whatnot. Unless you've got a pile of kids who like Japanese food, then no, no, no.
And I'm not a fan of pizza, so I've been to Mellow Mushroom, but only once or twice when someone else wanted to go. That place would probably be better than Nakato. But there's still not a lot of fun stuff for kids to do there.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm all about simplicity. If I'm going to do a destination birthday party, we're staying there. So it needs too have the food and the entertainment. And if it's a place that doesn't have food, then they need to have a party room so I can bring something in. I would not be interested in going to eat and then transporting a pile of 6 year olds (not to mention their booster seats) someplace else.
At this point in time though, it probably doesn't matter. I would imagine thew plans have been made or even the party is done and they had a grand time no matter what they decided to do.

Oh now I see the disconnect. This isn't for a party. It's for two sets of parents of 2 girls celebrating a birthday. Plus a younger sibling.
Yeah - if that's the case with just a couple of kids, then yeah, that's fine. I'm thinking full-out birthday party with lots of kids. I do hhope the kids are happy with it though. For maybe my daughter's 10th birthday, she only wanted a sleepover with 2 girls and herself and dinner at her favorite Mexican Restaurant. Both of those kids were looking for french fries on the menu. It was a pain - you never know about someone else's kids
