Hi Everyone,

Can anyone recommend a bakery in the Lake Norman area that makes great bread? I'm missing some good seeded Bronx bread.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I thought this thread was about something else. I know I can Google it, but what is Bronx Bread?

I have no clue what Bronx bread is, but call the Ingles in Statesville & ask if they carry Viera rolls. My Ingles carries them. http://www.ingles-markets.com/store_...ons/search.php

Vieira's Bakery Inc. | Creators of the original Portuguese Roll. Nationwide bakers of fresh and frozen bread for foodservice and retail.

I'm going to guess the OP means semolina bread. That was the seeded bread we loved the most growing up.

Lowes Food stores in South Charlotte used to carry semolina seeded Italian bread. But, alas, they were taken over by HT and the bread disappeared. There is an Italian place in Stallings called Enzo's that gets the seeded Italian, but that may be too far for you.

Lowes Foods is still in Gastonia.. The OP could check with Ingles in Statesville & Dallas as well as Lowes Foods in Gastonia.

I've seen the semolina bread at Earth Fare. I think I've also seen it at HT on occasion. I'd guess that you could find it at Fresh Market as well.

Publix will have it in their bakery but alas not yet in the LN area.
