i'm an IT guy who's moving to the Charlotte area first of '08. I've already secured a job, so that's not an issue. What i'm wondering is what the music scene is like there. I'm into non-mainstream rock and alternative music, as well as electronic dance music.

Anyone know anything about that kind of stuff going on or can point me to some sites with some info?

Most of the EDM scene here recently has died out. Club Eden is good for events, and also there is a club which is normally gay called Scorpio's which holds events. Check Creative Loafing Charlotte and ncdnb.com :: North Carolina Drum 'n' Bass. There used to be a good resource at Spins.US :: Homepage :: Urban electronic dance music and underground hip-hop resources and communities. but it's now defunct. Liquified in ATL puts on some good events and that's a four hour drive. Liquified Events.

Oh, you can also pick up flyers for local events at Manifest disc on South Blvd (Archdale Station from the light rail) and Central Records on central Ave.
