Driving your kids to neighborhoods that give treats is pathetic. It's a sign that #1 you are stone arse cheap or "broke" and or you are Shameless. Buy a bag of treats and stay home to give it out to others.
Mike was alittle harsh but I do agree with staying in your own neighborhood. Our old neighborhood ended up with cars lining up and down the main street. People parking with two wheels in the grass crushing sprinkler heads. Literally vans with kid pouring out. Most houses at the begining of the neighborhood would be out of candy in 10 minutes. I feel part of the fun is seeing all the neighborhood kids I know coming by. It ends up to much and lights go off.
People need to remember that there are a lot of houses that aren't in "neighborhoods". I think that's why parents drive to the closest neighborhood, park the car, and walk the sidewalk with their kids. They either live either on main streets where it isn't safe or out in the "country" where it is too far to walk for trick or treating.

Exactly. These kids should miss out on the ToTing experience because they live somewhere not conducive to it? I think that's a pretty mean stance personally. Regardless, I'm driving my kids to a different neighborhood than mine so they can ToT with friends. I don't care if someone doesn't like it. It's more fun for my kids, and that is what matters today, that the kids have a good holiday.
Halloween is 1 day out of the year. If it bothers you so much, just be a scrooge, turn out the lights and pretend your not home (or go out somewhere so you won't have to deal w/it)
When people complain about this stuff it tells you alot about their personality in general. Jeez...let the kids have a fun holiday.

Then throw a TOT party at your house and invite all of us Holiday - All Saints Day or is it Trick or Treat Day?
If the religious tone of "Halloween" bothers certain people (which obviously it bothers the OP), then its your right to just not answer the door or do something else...for goodness sakes already.....
This is one of my favorite holidays of the year and I ain't goin to hell....lol
