Ok we are going on a disney cruise to the Caribbean and need to kennel our dog...I was told about Charlotte kennels? has anyone heard of them and or have had an experience with them?
i am not familiar with them. definitely visit the kennels you are considering. do a search for dog kennels on here and you will find threads with recommendations. if you are interested in having a dog sitter instead, i can recommend the company we use when we go out of town.
btw, have a blast on your cruise! we went on our first disney cruise this past october and loved it.
thank You this is our 1st cruise so we are all excited...I will check some of them out...this one was recommended however Id like to know if anyone else knows of them...My dog would be very lonely at home even with a Sitter, as he is a Silky Terrier and needs mommy...lol...
Hi Lacey,
We are planning to move to Davidson next year. When you mention dog sitter, do they stay at your home, or stop by during the day at times to look in on your pet ? We have an Alaskan Malamute (btw her name is Lacey, lol). Anyway this sounds like it would be nicer for her than a kennel.
I used them for my two babies and was pretty pleased. I will say that it is not a "posh upscale pet resort" but very pleasant and great owners who care for your pets. Prices are roughly $20-25 a day depending on the size of your pet and the kennels have indoor/outdoor runs. I usually get them groomed when they are ready to leave and they do a great job with that too. You can check them out online at Granbar Kennels Pet Resort
I had the same issue because I had just moved here and I needed to kennel my pets for a vacation I was going on. I asked three unrelated people and they all told me to use Granbar. Hope that helps! Have a great vacation!

we use gopher dogs (Welcome to Gopher Dogs Online) but i am not sure they travel to davidson, i think they stay in charlotte. we have the same sitter each time and she visits 3 times per day for a half hour visit each time to walk, play, feed. we can't use kennels with our little pomeranian bc she gets stressed out around other animals and, well, people too lol she is antisocial. and oh yes, lacey is a popular dog name, i know. i have met a lot of people whose dogs share my name.
berryjuice, if you have any disney cruise q's, send them my way! we did the western carribean on the disney magic. it will make a great first cruise! we've done royal carribean and norwegian, but disney topped them both!
Lacey,
Thank you very much for the information. I'm going to keep it so when we do get down there, I can always call and question what areas they do cover. I'm glad you didn't take it as an insult with the name, after all it is a pretty name no matter who has it !!
We have been using a great place called Wickersham's K-9 Ranch. Wickersham's K-9 Ranch. They are located in Marshville but pick up your dog at home in an old school bus converted into a dog transport. It is a ranch, not just a kennel. Dogs spend many hours outdoors with other dogs, not just in a cage. Someone always on premis. We have 2 dogs and they stay together. Look at the website for information.
We originally tried everyplace in town but were unsatisfied. Most places close their doors and go home. Dogs stay in a cage. Get walked or let out only a couple times a day.
