Not anytime soon, not enough hotel rooms in/close to Uptown. 6-7,000 currently, need 30,000.

The unpredictable weather hurts Charlotte more than the hotels rooms from what I hear. You could have 60-70 degree sunny or 30-40 degree rainy & chilly weather that time of the year

I think by having it in NJ they pretty much put the weather issue to rest.

Yup. I think that the decision opened up Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, & Charlotte.

as another poster said, we don't have the hotel space for such a large event. As much as I love Charlotte, people need to realize that it's still a small growing city with limitations.

Smaller cities have hosted this event. Indy and Jacksonville instantly come to mind.

The NFL requires a host city to have 25,000 hotels in its region. In 2012 the region had 24,000 rooms with 4,000 of those Uptown. Uptown will have 7,000 rooms in the next couple of years which pushed the region into the NFL's requirement range & that doesn't include any outside of Uptown that have been or will be built. The city has bid on the college championship & they have no issue with the hotel availability & have similar requirements as the NFL

I was thinking of Indy. The Democrats found motel rooms. Motels were booked solid for about 30 miles.

Not forever. Perceived as Podunk. When they quit having to add "North Carolina" then maybe.
