I am graduating from USC (South Carolina) this May and have accepted a job right in downtown Charlotte. I am looking for apartments near there and would like to have roommates. I would like to not spend more than $1,000 per month if possible. Also, I would like to live in an apartment complex that has a good amount of people that are around my age. Does anybody have any suggestions?

My daughter recently graduated and lives w/roommate at Camden Southend (College/Tryon). Right on lightrail and bars, etc. Lots of young people. She found her roommate online, a UNC grad working at BofA. They get along very well. Their combined rent is $1800.Utilities run ~$100. They live in the 'wheelhouse' of you recent grads, great place to live, secured parking garage, lots of amenities.

Third SouthEnd, you may have to go to Craigslist etc to find a roommate situation though, just beware of scams of course.

Recommend you find a good roommate as well as it will improve your options. If I were a recent grad I would definitely want to live near the light rail in Southend or try to get within 277. There is a lot of young energy. With baseball season around the corner and more and more retail coming to the center city uptown is going to be a really fun place to live.

Where did she find her roommate? Was it on Craigslist or is there a page on Facebook for people moving to Charlotte? Also, did they meet each other before they started living with each other?
