Hey guys,

My wife and I are looking to buy our first home and I'd really appreciate any advice or help you could offer. We DO have a realtor and are looking on the web, but I thought it couldn't hurt to get all the advice possible! To make it easy, I've posted what we're looking for below ---

- $175,00 to $200,00 range
- North Charlotte, South Hunterville, Concord areas due to family/friends/church
- We'd REALLY like to stay out of the huge developments (Highland Creek) and lean more toward smaller neighborhoods or communities.

Sadly, we found an amazing house on Ridge Road in a development called Turnberry, but while speaking to a neighbor we found out that she did smell the infamous Wallace Farms on hot/rainy days. VERY sad for my wife and I.

Thanks for your thoughts and help in finding the perfect home in a nice neighborhood!

A home inspection is critical! A good inspector will look at every aspect of the house and tell you what is wrong and an estimate on fixing it. Even new houses should be inspected.

Sorry, that seemed misleading... We did not buy the home, or currently live in the smelly home. We were interested in purchasing it, only to find out that it may have a smell problem. We will certainly have any house inspected!

Look at Madison Green in Fort Mill. Fort Mill has great schools, low taxes, and a short commute to Charlotte.

Mallard Lake has some amazing price reductions currently which would put them in your price point. The neighborhood is of off Salome Church Rd. Great location, min. from 485 and 85! Worth checking out.
