I did a search, but didn't see a thread dedicated to this so I thought I would start one.

What do you think is the best bar in Charlotte?

I personally like RiRas and also Whiskey River

Locally, I like the Rusty Rudder and the Galway Hooker although my favorite beer is expensive there (Stella Artois=$4.50). Uptown, they all seem pretty descent. I generally start out at ReRa and venture out from there.

Where IS the Galway Hooker? I've got to get there one day, I've heard good things about it.

For me, it depends what type of mood I'm in, as to what type of bar I want to go to. I think my favorite one currently is "Howl at the Moon Saloon" in the Epicenter, but I also enjoy "The Alley Cat", "Cans", "Whiskey River", and "Picassos". Down here in York County SC, I don't really like any bars except for the English Pub in Baxter Village, and Bentley's Gin Mill at Manchester Village here in Rock Hill.

Stella was always advertised as "reassuringly expensive" in the UK for years.

It is off of Cawtaba Ave. Off of I-77, exit at 25, head west past Birkdale and turn right on Cawtaba (#73). It is in a shopping area on the right close behind several shops and close to Lowe's Supermarket. It is a fun place and popular with foreigners which I like.
