Wondering if anyone has feedback on the development known as Hollister? Just general info would be great....positive and negative. found a home there and we are considering making an offer but want to be sure about all those "important" things. Like, are there kids (boys )there?(I have 3). Are there any offenders lurking about? ....things like that? thanks for any input, chefof3
There was just some discussion of Hollister on Union County Mommies, another forum. From what I read, there are definitely kids. Between UCM and City Data you'll get tons of info.
Yep agreed building has certainly haulted there 2 went under contract recently but Id be a bit nervous in a development that isnt selling especially a shea neighborhood..
good family neighborhood. weddington! location! location! location!
yes but they arent going to weddington schools...they will be attending the new Cuthburtson Schools which are going to be awesome....but they will not be going to weddington middle or hs...so if someone is truly wanting Weddington Schools then they need to buy in Weddington near the schools so they wont be re-assigned...

Yes, this development is good 1 mile from WHS. You'll have to get closer .
It will turn out being a nice community w/ the all 4 sided brick homes. The negatives IMO are the two sections, the nice section and the not as nice section. I don't like when the builder does this. What section do live in? The big homes or the small ones?
I also think the homes are a bit over priced compared to what you could buy in a resale. To be fair, I never made an offer on one to see what they would accept.
We are working with an Realtor right now who said that she has delt with Shea before and has had a great experience. We are currently trying to decide b/w a completed home or building. The completed homes seem to be the best bang for your buck because the builder wants them off of their hands. We love what we've seen so far and are excited about the new schools. I have a son as well and this way everyone is new!

Hollister is currently petitioning the school district to re-evaluated their zoning to Cutherbertson. The residents want to stay Weddington. Either way, the schools will be great.
My wife and I looked at the neighborhood a few times.....we thought Shea builds a nice home, but we just didn't like the look/feel of the neighborhood overall...just didn't seem to have much character. We're coming from a Wieland neighborhood so we're a little spoiled in that regard, but it just didn't feel like a great neighborhood to us.
thanks so much for your input. some have been saying that the biggest reason they were not selling was because the main road entrance was not open until this year.
I agree that the already built homes offer more for the money or so it has seemed.
I would love to hear from some who live there? What do you mean by no character?
