Would anyone know which one is better? And I hear Discovery Place charges 20 bucks per person or something like that (no kids going).. I think that's too much and I am only interested in the planetarium, do they still charge the same?

Schiele recently rebuilt the whole planetarium, it's very nice. I'm partial to that one... doesn't hurt that it's named after/dedicated to the memory of my uncle (Jim Lynn). I remember as a boy watching Jim makes lights and displays from baby food bottles for his programs there... Being a young boy and having the run of that museum and the planetarium was very, very cool. The place has come a long way.

I haven't been to Schiele, Kelly was nice many years ago, and D'Place is great, but you better go soon as they're going to close soon after the first of the year for a total rebuild.
I some antique radios on display there and I have to get them out soon and find a place to put them at home, which is going to be a trick...

Have not been to DP's planetarium. Would totally recommend the Schiele's. First, for your $20 you would get admission for you, and another person to both the museum and the planetarium. Second, the staff is very knowledgable and the smaller crowds allow for more individual time. Another great planetarium is the one at the Hickory Science Center.
