I was wondering if they would even be sponsoring this event again . . . I expected it to go away . . .
Ani--not that easy to go away that quickly. I think it would look preeeeetty bad. Maybe next year. In fact most of the prime opps. for volun. were taken and filled.
How difficult is it to get tickets for this event? Any advise for first time attendee?
Just added myself to waiting list of volunteers in case I can't get a ticket but would really like to get at least 2 tixs.
Well, up until 3 or 4 weeks ago, they were offering me my renewal for grounds passes (which is when the deadline was), so I think it will still happen...

just my .02
Doubtless, you and John are right. I would think the PGA has its schedules set up waaaaay in advance. As an eventuality . . . perhaps the sponsor will change and it will still be held here . . . I mean - who puts up the $$$ for the purse on these things???? I just assumed the majority of that money had to be from the sponsor. It can't be all entry fees . . . I don't know how it works, hence my ignorance.
From what I hear from a marshall at the event, this year is a go, locked in, but next year is not. The in the know crowd is hoping to pull out a rabbit from the hat and keep the exceptional tournament as close to "as is" is possible, but it is not a sure thing, post 2009.
John, too bad you don't know any Wachovia employees. They could have gotten you tickets at a discount.
