I'm looking for a good italian resteraunt, is there a place you consider one of the best in town? Prefer location downtown, Southpark or near airport.

Villa Antonio is good, it's on South Blvd.

My favorite in Charlotte is http://www.mamaricottasrestaurant.com/. It is near Target on Charlottestowne which is near downtown.

Open Kitchen is the best of traditional Italian. It is on Morehead Street going towards the airport. They have been open since the 1950's.

I would be partial to the original location of Villa Antonio's on South Blvd.
Yes, I know about the new location in Ballantyne, but still.

Frankies is great, but it feels much too like a chain restaurant, IMHO.
Again, food fine, service good, just if the OP wanted something unique and near the airport a plus, then the original location of Villa Antonio's gets my vote.

Is that still open? If so I'll go this weekend, went there PLENTY of times in the 70s & 80s.
Just never think about it (a little far from SE Charlotte).

I'd suggest Dolce.
