Ok, I have been craving italian cookies. Does anybody know the closest bakery that sells them. I know there is one on Tryon St but I thought there might be one closer to my job or maybe even one close to home in Indian Trail.

I did just have a thought...why not check at The Bread Basket on Monroe Rd (almost in Matthews). They do some great desserts, so MAYBE they would have your cookies? I had a gift basket from them when I was in the hospital last year and loved all their little goodies

All i know is you can only get these at certain bakeries. I will keep searching. I may have to take a ride to the one on Tryon. There is one kind that is square with rainbow colors on the inside with jelly in between and chocolate outside yum.

Palones is @ the Fountains shopping center at the corner of Ardrey Kell and Tom Short.

Lowes Foods will surprise you, check it out! they have a great assortment of Italian Cookies and they DO have the ones with the jelly in it.

from the wife,
Last time I was at Delancey St. Deli which is also in The Fountains they had some italian cookies. He was ordering them from NY. He had the rainbow cookies.
If you were my neighbor I'd make you a batch. I use my grandmother's recipe for an italian annisette cookie. My kids love them. I only try to make them at Christmas b/c I eat too many and then wonder why my pants won't fit.

Rainbow cookies; Venetians; Seven Layer cookies.......all the same thing, and all DELICIOUS! I can't help you find where to buy them here, but I can give you the recipe to make them yourself if you want!
