I have been living in Gilead Village for over a year, great neighborhood. Saussy is definately a good builder. Wish I could of afforded Montieth Park, but Gilead village is a great deal, and appreciation has been strong since buying.
So far i am very pleased with the my buying expierence with saussy. Barbara in the sales office is simply the BEST, she is ceartainly an asset to the company.I am looking forward to moving in. I may host a friday night porch party in may if all i am not working, these things sound like fun.
I found a great deal on a Saussy Burbank house in Douglas Park... the same model house usually costs tens of thousands more in other communities. I'm just curious why it's so inexpensive...
Anyone have ideas?
You get what you pay for, if it is such a good deal, don't you have to wonder WHY?????
Also, I heard they were bought out by another company, do your research before you buy.
I have been looking at several quotes from Anigirli, do they work for the company????
You get what you pay for, why are they trying to dump houses?
I heard they were recently sold to another company, do some more research before you buy!
IHYC Saussy Burbank became part of Florida based St. Joe company when Downie Saussy and Jim Burbank sold the company in 2000. Jim Burbank still consults with the company that bears his name, as well as starting another one called JCB Urban. http://www.jcburban.com/
As for Downie Saussy he was away from the industry(possible noncompete clause in contract) for a few years and is part of now Walker Madison http://www.walkermadison.com/index.html
I admire both of these men since they were ahead of the curve by re-introducing the "southern" and "Art's & Craft" style of homes to the Charlotte market in the 1990's when homebuying tastes leaned towards the modern. They are one of the few production home builders in the area that have a good reputation and many of their past communites have matured nicely. If you drive to their communites you notice lots of curb appeal.
The company has 3 distinct lines to appeal to different budgets, cottage, classic and signature. Douglas Park was a community (like Monteith Park, Water Oak) that offered cottage and classic homes. Also they have been chosen to worked numerous times with universities, banks and the Charlotte Housing Authority to redevelop areas that once were violent.

And no I don't work for the company. I wish I did since I know more about their product that most of their sales agents on site.
