Headed to the Verizon amphitheater this Friday to see Nickelback. I've never been to this venue before and would love to get some advice from others that have seen shows there. We have lawn seats, but won't be arriving until about 6 (silly jobs!!) so we aren't sure if we will have time to tailgate. Understand we can bring one sealed water bottle and a gallon ziploc of food. Don't plan on taking chairs, just a blanket to sit on until the band gets rockin' and we stand. Can anyone tell me best places to sit? What to avoid? Lessons learned from previous events? Any and all comments are welcome!

Reason: misspelling
Understood -- but they were $10 each so if we don't go, no worries. However, I have heard some people say that there are better areas than others to sit on the lawn. Something about proximity to concessions or bathrooms maybe?
Was at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater last Thursday for Warped Tour 09 I will tell you that traffic was mad crazy getting in. Hopefully you have better luck.
When you go in the gate, keep to the left. Go all the way around and enter the lawn from the left side. There are some seats there that you can use that will keep you off the ground if it rains. Bathrooms are on both sides of the lawn, as are concessions so there really won't be an advantage either way there. You will probably be viewing the monitors rather than the stage. The stage is a loooonnnng way from the lawn seats! LOL. Take plenty of $$. Everything inside is super expensive. And don't try to take in even a pocket knife! They'll be searching you before you can go in. Hopefully the weather will be good for you! You may want to put on some bug repellent before you go in. Have fun!

As far as sitting, Either the left or right near the front will give you the fastest access to food/beers and restrooms. Once you walk in gates, loop around to the left or the right and eventually you will see some stairs leading up to the lawn. Traffics really isn't that bad... Have fun!

Went last Sunday for Kid Rock / Lynyrd Skynyrd...lawn wasn't bad! Bring a blanket and be prepared to spend $$ if you get thirsty. $4 bottle of water, $5 bottle of soda, $11 Beer!
And yes, traffic was a NIGHTMARE!!!!
Have fun!

The traffic is why I don't go to any concerts that are not either Friday or Saturday myself. Takes way to long to get out of there and when you live in South Charlotte makes for an unpleasant experience.
Just wish they would bring some of these concerts down to the Time Warner Arena in Uptown. So many different ways to leave Uptown and maybe only 2 from Verizon.
Don't drink too much before you go in as the bathrooms are always busy or else wear depends!! But have fun. I have been on the lawn for many concerts and always enjoy it, rain or shine.
