I was really excited to try this place but after getting 3 tacos and some beans that were far from desirable I'm not a fan...Oh and 3 tacos, beans and LG drink (which was really a small) came to $10.25. AND I was THE only customer there and it still took 20 minutes to get my order. Don't bother asking for chips and salsa because they don't have any! That's right a Latin/Mex Rest. that does not do chips and Salsa. WOW Maybe this was a one time bad experience but I am not going back.
Actually, La Joya is a true "jem." It is true Latin Food that is not Mexican, which is not the only type of Latin food there is. Other Latin countries have so much offer in the area of cuisine, and it is nothing like Mexican food. A lot of other Latin American countries do not eat "chips and salsa." So many people think that all Latin food is Mexican, but there is so much more to offer. Don't get me wrong; I love Mexican food, but I also love food from El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia, etc.
We have eaten at La Joya twice, and the food has been excellent. It is not "fast" food because it is handmade and cooked fresh, so don't expect that, but it worth the wait. Before you judge a place, maybe you should understand a little more about the 20 other Spanish-speaking countries that exist and the type of cuisine eaten there.
I give it 2 thumbs up and will continue to go back.
