are agricultural workers still given shelter while they work the fields? and delicious 'victuals'? i got this idea from Steinbeck, dontknow if things have changed.
No. At this point in time, it's only "roadkill" for "viddles"!
What was the outcome on your trip to the housing authority? Do they have anything available?
My job sometimes entails helping folks who are homeless or about to be homeless. I direct them to the income-based apartments, but tell them the section 8 list is closed, because it has been for such a long time!
I will tomorrow. Right now I am conjugating complex numbers. In another words there are two people coming at 8PM to try and pick my pockets at bridge playing. I might lose 2 bux tonite and you know these are hard times.
Update on the young couple: Things have worked out ok for them thanks to mutual friends we have in Charlotte. Transplants living in Waxhall both work and offered to help. She is in her own business and he as a manager of a small Spanish owned supermarket chain.
They offered the couple a room in their "McMansion" in exchange for daily childcare. The young man is now working 4 days a week in the produce dept at min. wage.
For now all is well. Thanks for your concerns for this couple.
