Default I like the location...

We looked into to this community before buying in Providence Pointe. What I liked about stone creek is its proximity to the stone crest plaza and piper glen.
So you are in between Weddington, Piper Glen and Ballantyne area.

I think it's a nice community in a great area of South Charlotte. Centex is the builder in there; IMO Centex does a great job of using every square foot of space in the houses they build. It is set up in several "villages" with different price points, from full brick to townhouses. Lot sizes tend to be smaller, though. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions, and best of luck

Yes, it's in Meck. Stone Creek Ranch probably goes to the 'new-next-year' (I think) elementary Flat Branch, Jay M Robinson Middle, and maybe Providence High? Or Ardrey Kell High.

the higher end side of stone creek has a good location - near audrey kell rd - I would not want to be on the side close to 485 because you will have highway noise. The down side is the houses look darn near identical to each other so it is a highly homogenous neighborhood from what I see when I pass it on Audrey Kell.

Actually I think Flat Branch is going to be a swing school until Elon and Lancaster Rd schools are built, because of overcrowding at Hawk Ridge for the next school year...Stone Creek may not go there until 2008-2009 school year. I will check that out though. Right now schools are McKee Rd Elementary, J.M. Robinson Middle and Ardrey Kell High.

The traffic on Providence road is terrible in the mornings and evenings. The tennants in one of my rentals just off Providence road were planning on building in that area. They changed their mind and left after one year due to the traffic. I have realtives with two rentals across 485 and just north of Stone Creek Ranch. They have had trouble maintaining tennants due to the round the clock noise from 485.

yes, we have a friend that lives in providence plantation and is very close to 485 and the highway noise is terrible - you can hear it while sitting in their living room wtih all the doors and windows closed - and they have a lot of foliage between them and the highway
