If you can deal with the occasional traffic and track noise, I'd put this high on your list. Not too sure about schools though.

The commute from Kannapolis to your husband's job would be about 10 minutes. It is about 15 minutes to Huntersville and Davidson from Kannapolis as well and about 10 minutes to Concord Mills. I hope that helps.
